The wall
- Landscape and communication -
The intervention is located on the edge of the coast, as a place of intersection between the sea and the land. The choice of this vector results in an architecture of longitudinal character that creates a new artificial edge.
When the building touches nature, the land and the sea, it takes a more massive aspect by using concrete walls and vaults.
As we rise in height, the structure becomes metal, dematerializing. Aiming at creating a variety of spaces and materialities, a number of envelopes are designed in order to qualify them specifically.
Strategy
1. A system of envelopes
They are used to qualify the different spaces along the wall by giving different materialities
2. The external perimetral circulation
A system of ramps and walkways that link the public spaces, complementing the inner more functional communication
3. The light metal structure
As we rise in height structure dematerializes, going from concrete to metal, shown between the walls cutouts
4. The artificial cave
When reaching the ground a cave-like space is created by the succession of a number of concrete vaults that ocassionally leave the sea water in
5. The concrete walls
Two parallel concrete walls define the extension of the project. They are cut showing the layers and metal structure
